30 civilians killed in clashes in Syria's Homs

"Preparations were under way Sunday for a music festival to mark the 11th anniversary of Bashar Al Assad taking the oath of office as president.

Meanwhile, at least 30 people were killed in 24 hours in the central Syrian city of Homs in clashes between supporters and opponents of Al Assad's regime, a human rights activist said on Sunday.

"More than 30 civilians have been killed over the past 24 hours in Homs in clashes that broke out late on Saturday between the opposition and supporters of the regime," said Rami Abdul Rahman of the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights"
